NCS Fundraisers
Throughout the year there are fundraisers that help
to fund student activities and special needs at the school. Some of the fundraising
money also goes to the NCS Fund which helps to keep tuition below the actual cost of education.
There is a good variety of fundraisers, so we encourage families to help
with the fundraisers that fit best with their schedule and situation.
For all the main fundraisers, there is a tuition discount for those who participate.
Below are a brief description of some of the main fundraisers that we do each year.
We have a fundraiser that is year-round and doesnt cost you anything more than what you already spend, PLUS it can actually save you money!
In addition to raising around $9,000 a year for NCS, this fundraiser also provides around $9,000 in tuition discounts for the families that participate.
How it works:
NCS participates in a program called RaiseRight to order gift cards in bulk and receive a discount on them.
Depending on the business, the discounts range from 1% to 20% or more. As an incentive for you to participate in the program, NCS splits the proceeds with the families
purchasing the cards and applies a credit towards their tuition bill on a monthly basis.
If you do not need tuition assistance, you may choose to donate all proceeds to NCS or to another school family in need.
More details are available here.
The entire student body partcipates in the
Warrior Walk which is held
yearly in the spring.
The money raised from this event provides funds for things such as recess
equipment, classroom and educational improvements, and the NCS Fund which helps to keep tuition affordable.
In addition to the money raised for the school, families earn tuition credit based on partcipation.
During the Little League World Series (LLWS) in August of each year, NCS signs up to staff their concession stand on certain days.
On those days, NCS volunteers have their choice of taking orders and handling money from customers,
filling drinks, or dishing out hot food (hot dogs, fries, etc.) according to orders placed.
In turn, NCS receives a check for a percentage of all our sales. Last year the school received over $18,000!
Families receive a $25 tuition credit for every shift they volunteer at the LLWS .
This shift can be served by your student aged 16 or older, a parent, grandparent, or even a friend of the family.
There is no limit to the number of shifts any given family can volunteer.
Each year NCS does several fundraising evens where we sell things such as Krispy Kreme donuts or sandwiches.
Order forms are sent home with one student in each family, and families receive a tuition credit based on the number of items sold.
Northumberland Christian School has partnered with Community Aid by placing a clothing bin on the Sheetz Avenue and 6th Street side of our school building. This partnership helps encourage the mission of the Community Aid organinzation to provide quality, gently-used clothing at affordable prices for individuals and families through their retail stores. In return for your donations of clean, gently-used clothing, NCS receives a cash grant based on the pounds of clothing collected. It's a win-win for the community and NCS!
